If you know us at The Peak, you know we have a bit of a thing for technology.
However, bringing in a new device isn’t about filling another spot in a treatment room. We want technology that gives us something genuinely useful, expands what we can offer our patients and, ideally, makes us a little giddy during training.
TORO checked those boxes.
Now that our team has completed training, we’re excited to officially introduce TORO at The Peak Wellness Spa in North Scottsdale.
And, as we’ve been saying around here, there’s a lot this bull can do.
TORO is an advanced aesthetic laser platform that gives our providers multiple ways to address concerns involving pigment, tattoo ink, scars, skin tone and texture.
One of its technologies is Pico, which delivers energy in extremely short pulses. This makes it particularly useful when targeting unwanted pigment and tattoo ink. TORO also offers fractional and thermal treatment capabilities for skin revitalization.
In other words, we didn’t bring TORO to The Peak to do just one thing.
We’re fortunate to already have an extensive collection of aesthetic technologies at The Peak. Because of that, a new device has to earn its real estate.
TORO caught our attention because it fills several important gaps while also expanding the ways we can customize treatments.
Most notably, it gives us new options for patients concerned about stubborn pigmentation, unwanted tattoos or permanent makeup. At the same time, its fractional and thermal capabilities open another avenue for improving the appearance of scars and overall skin quality.
That versatility mattered to us.
After all, no two patients walk into The Peak with exactly the same skin, history or goals. Having more tools allows our providers to choose treatments based on the person sitting in front of us rather than trying to make one technology work for everyone.
Let’s start with a big one: melasma.
Anyone who has dealt with melasma knows it can be frustrating. Hormones, sun exposure, heat and other factors can influence it, and recurrence is common. Consequently, melasma requires a thoughtful approach rather than a promise that one treatment will magically make it disappear forever.
TORO gives our team another tool for appropriately selected patients with melasma and other pigmentation concerns.
Beyond melasma, TORO can also be used to target unwanted pigmentation such as sun spots, age spots and areas of visible discoloration on areas including the face, chest and hands.
Because pigment behaves differently from person to person, consultation and proper skin assessment are especially important before treatment.
We support personal growth.
Sometimes personal growth involves realizing the tattoo you loved years ago does not need to accompany you into your next chapter.
TORO’s Pico technology can target tattoo pigment, allowing the body’s natural processes to gradually clear fragmented ink particles over a series of treatments.
Tattoo removal is not an overnight process. The number of sessions needed depends on several factors, including the tattoo’s size, location, ink colors, depth, density and whether it was professionally or amateur applied.
Still, having advanced technology specifically designed to target tattoo pigment gives us an exciting new option at The Peak.
No judgment about the tattoo, by the way. We’ve all made decisions.
This might be one of the TORO treatments we’re most excited to offer.
Permanent makeup is still a tattoo. Over time, however, brow pigment can fade, shift color or simply stop matching what you want your brows to look like.
Maybe the shape isn’t right anymore. Perhaps your brow style has changed. Or the pigment that started as a beautiful brown has taken on a color you definitely did not order.
TORO gives us the ability to evaluate and treat certain unwanted permanent makeup and eyebrow pigments.
Because permanent makeup pigments can contain different ingredients and behave differently when exposed to laser energy, a professional consultation is important before treatment.
Brows don’t necessarily have to be forever.
Here’s where TORO shows another side.
It’s not just about removing pigment.
TORO’s fractional and thermal technologies can be used to improve the appearance of scars, uneven texture and fine lines while supporting collagen remodeling.
That makes skin revitalization an entirely different category within the TORO platform.
Instead of targeting something we want to remove, these treatments focus on encouraging healthier-looking skin and improving overall texture and appearance.
For us, that’s another reason TORO earned its place at The Peak.
Not every TORO treatment needs to solve a major skin concern.
Sometimes you just want your skin to look really good.
The TORO Detox Carbon Facial combines a specialized carbon treatment with laser energy to help refresh the appearance of the skin, address congestion and leave the complexion looking smoother, clearer and revitalized.
It can help improve the appearance of pores, skin clarity, congestion and texture while giving the skin that healthy, refreshed look we all appreciate.
If tattoo removal and pigment correction represent TORO’s serious side, the Detox Carbon Facial may be its fun side.
Every bull needs one.
No, and that’s important.
Laser treatments should always begin with an evaluation of your skin type, medical history, medications, current skin condition and treatment goals. Additionally, certain pigmentation concerns require extra caution.
Melasma is a perfect example. More aggressive isn’t necessarily better. In fact, heat and inflammation can sometimes worsen pigmentation in susceptible skin.
That’s why we don’t believe in simply choosing a laser because it’s new.
At The Peak, we’ll determine whether TORO is appropriate for your skin and discuss other options when another treatment makes more sense.
For a quick answer, TORO treatments at The Peak may be used for appropriately selected patients concerned with:
The appropriate treatment, settings and number of sessions vary by individual.
It depends on what we’re treating.
Pigment correction may require a very different treatment plan from tattoo removal or scar revitalization. Tattoo characteristics, pigment depth, skin type, treatment area and individual response can all affect the number of sessions recommended.
Therefore, we don’t believe in giving everyone the same treatment plan before we’ve even seen their skin.
A consultation allows us to evaluate your concern and give you a more realistic idea of what to expect.
We spend a lot of time researching new aesthetic and wellness technology. More importantly, we spend time asking whether it actually belongs at The Peak.
TORO made the cut.
It gives our team additional options for some notoriously frustrating concerns while also expanding into tattoo removal, permanent makeup removal, scars and overall skin revitalization.
And we’re only getting started.
If you’ve been dealing with stubborn pigment, have some ink you’re ready to reconsider or simply want to know what TORO could do for your skin, schedule a laser consultation with our team at The Peak Wellness Spa in North Scottsdale.
Your skin has a story. Maybe you’re ready to rewrite a little of it.
